l’or noir – building local values for Saint Gilles {Liége – 2012}

The Saint Gilles street used to be a vibrant area in Liège, where everything could be found; today, it’s a street in decay, where most local businesses have almost vanished and there is lack of appropriation of the territory. For this reason, it seems relevant to design some actions that foster local production and consumption, as well as reconnect the people to their local values. With FRANZ chocolatier as a local partner, a new souvenir chocolate was made, resembling the map of the neighborhood; this chocolate is accompanied by a printed page with a local story, which can be collected to build a book.
